International Business and Trade Department accepts students with TM-1 score type.

One of the undergraduate programs within the Faculty of Commerce is the Department of International Trade and Business, which has four years of education, which equals eight semesters. 

The aim of the International Trade and Business Program is to train people who are educated, knowledgeable, equipped and capable of doing business in a global environment. As the language of instruction in the International Trade and Business Undergraduate Program is English, our graduates speak English in at an advanced level. In addition to English, at least one foreign language is taught during the program. Therefore, students are ready to be successful in the international environment.

Besides, the students of the International Trade and Business Program graduate as individuals who have mastered all other technological developments, especially computers. The general objectives of the program are to gain identity as entrepreneurs and creative individuals who express themselves freely. The program has been prepared with the awareness that well-educated and confident individuals can be in executive positions in global environment and that companies can develop thanks to good managers.

Students who have completed International Trade and Business are sought by all institutions that do international trade and international business. In the developing World, Turkey is a great need for staff to carry out this initiative. Both the foreign language program graduates in terms of both information and equipment knowledge, Turkey has the distinction of being the people that need it most in this period. In this respect, students who have completed the program are of great value and Turkey at the beginning of the globalization moves where elements needed will graduate from this program. An intensive internship program is applied in order for our students to successfully apply the managerial and professional theoretical knowledge acquired in their careers. Thanks to these intensive internship programs, many of our students receive job offers from companies they do internship while they are still students; as soon as they graduate without going through the job search period after graduation, they are taken into the business life.

 

In today's world, which is rapidly globalizing and all business have an international connections, graduates of International Trade and Business have a wide range of business fields. In this context, our graduates can work in every level of domestic and foreign companies engaged in foreign trade companies, in global companies, international audit companies, international banks and insurance companies, finance and service sector, international merger and acquisition companies and consultancy companies.

International Trade and Business students have to complete 6 weeks of summer internship in the fourth semester and 6 weeks of internship in the sixth semester. Upon graduation, they have completed two internships for a total of 12 weeks and gain experience in the sector.

Students in our department of International Trade and Business should make sure that the place of internship to be chosen is one of the institutional organizations and have an important place in Turkey’s economy. The biggest contribution of this is to prepare the student to the professional life by providing the student to use the information learned in theory in the most efficient way in practice.

In the Department of International Trade and Business, students can find internship place if they wish. Our students who have problems in finding an internship place are supported by our Career Office.

As an International d Trade and Business student, you can do your compulsory internship abroad. For this, you can benefit from the internship opportunities offered by Erasmus program or you can do your compulsory internship abroad through organizations such as "Work and Travel".

Students of the Department of International Trade and Business have the opportunity to make double majors / departments with the departments of the Faculty of Commerce and certain departments of other faculties.

The double major program must have at least 30 credits in addition to the total credit of the major program, provided that both major courses meet the total credit hours required for graduation and other requirements of these programs. The double major program can be applied for at the earliest third and at the latest fifth semester of the registered program (International Business and Trade)

In order to accept a student's double major application:

  • To have successfully completed all courses taken in the major program (International Business and Trade) of which it is registered until the period of application
  • At the time of application for a double major program, the GPA of the major program (International Business and Trade) must be at least 3.00.
    In order to start the double major program with a scholarship, the student's GPA is 3.25 out of 4.00.
  • The double major program must have a placement score of not less than the base score of the relevant year.

The student must be successful in the aptitude test for the admission of students to the double major diploma program.

No more than one major program can be registered at the same time. However, at the same time, student can register for the minor program with a second major diploma. The student in the double major program can transfer to the second major diploma program when the major program provides the conditions in accordance with the transition provisions within the higher education institution.

During the double major education, the student's CGPA can be reduced to 2.50 for one time only. If the GPA falls below 2.50 for the second time, the student is dismissed from the second major diploma program. Students who do not take courses from the double major program for two consecutive semesters are deleted from the second major program.

In order to graduate from the second major program, the CGPA must be at least 2.70 and the graduation requirements of the programs must be fulfilled. The second major diploma is given to the student who continues the double major program if student graduated from the first major program.

Students who have completed the major program but who are missing from the second major program can be extended for a maximum of two semesters upon the decision of the board of directors of the faculty where the second major program is located. However, if an extension is required in double major programs where credit load is intensive, an additional two semesters can be extended. A second degree diploma is given to the students who have the right to graduate from the undergraduate program and have completed the double major program.

The minor program must have at least 21 credits of course load in addition to the major courses. The minor program can be applied for at the earliest third and sixth semesters of the registered program (International Business and Trade).

In order to be admitted to a minor program:

To have successfully completed all courses taken in the major program (International Business and Trade) until the time of application

At the time of application for the minor program, the GPA of the major program (International Trade and Business) must be at least 2.50.

In order to apply for a scholarship, the applicants must have a GPA of 3.00 out of 4.

No more than one second major program can be registered at the same time. However, at the same time, you can register for the minor program with a second major diploma.

In order for the student to attend the minor program, the GPA of the major program (International Trade and Business) must be at least 2.30. Students who fail to meet this requirement will be dismissed from the minor program. Students who do not take courses from the minor program for two consecutive semesters are dismissed from the minor program. In order to receive a minor certificate, the GPA of the major (International Trade and Business) must be at least 2.30. It is given. Students who have completed the major program (International Trade and Business) and who are missing from the minor program can be extended for a maximum of two semesters by the decision of the board of directors of the faculty in which the minor program is located. Students who obtain the right to graduate from the undergraduate program (International Trade and Business) and successfully complete the minor program are awarded a minor certificate.

International Trade and Business students have the opportunity to enhance their international communication skills and recognize different cultures while completing their academic education through agreements made with European, American and Canadian universities.

Our Department International Trade and Business teaches its graduates various simulation programs in order to gain competitive advantage and experience and offers one-to-one lessons.

As the Department of International Trade and Business, a second foreign language course is compulsory in our curriculum in order to provide competitive advantage to our students in their business life.

Graduates of the Department International Trade and Business can work in foreign trade companies, foreign trade departments of companies, import and export departments, foreign trade services of banks, customs, customs clearance companies, logistics companies and insurance companies. In addition, they have the opportunity to work in all public and private sector institutions where graduates of the Faculty of Economics, Business Administration, Economics and Administrative Sciences are employed.

First type of scholarship:

Full scholarship will be given to students placed in full scholarship programs,

50% The scholarship will be given to students who are placed in scholarship programs.

25% The scholarship will be given to students placed in scholarship programs and covers one quarter of the tuition fee.

For those who are studying in any scholarship program and continuing to double major program, one semester is added to this period.

Second type of scholarship: In-university Achievement Scholarship, settled in Yeditepe University and in accordance with the principles determined by the University's top boards;

75% of the tuition fee for the next student

Second 50%

The third 25% of the program is given to students who have been enrolled in the program at least 35 before the fall semester. This scholarship ends as of the end of the academic year.

Third Scholarship Type: Students who are accepted to the University sports team in the fields of Basketball, Volleyball and Handball and participate in national races in individual sports are given 50% of the tuition fee and cover the Foreign Language Preparatory Program.

Sports scholarship;

The GPA of the student in the program under education falls below 2.00 over 4.00,

Disciplinary action,

By the coach or coach of the team; expulsion from the team for reasons such as lack of discipline, lack of performance or permanent disability,

Individual sports student is not called to the National Team twice in a row; however, it is re-issued if the overall grade point average and sports performance are raised again.

A student can only benefit from a scholarship; The highest scholarship is available to students who have received more than one scholarship.

Those who want to work in International Trade and Business Sector should be strong and dynamic individuals with social aspects. For a profession that is in constant interaction with customers; It is very important to be able to communicate well with people, to be confident, not to be surprised by difficulties, to make quick and correct decisions, to be patient, polite and understanding. Individuals with such characteristics are successful in the International Trade and Business sector.

During the university education, our students in the Department of International Trade and Business go through an intensive internship program in order to be able to apply their managerial and professional theoretical knowledge in the business environment and to find employment after graduation and find the opportunity to introduce themselves to the sector and sector professionals. In this way, many of our students receive job offers from the companies they do internship while they are still students; as soon as they graduate without going through the job search period after graduation, they are taken into the business life.

After graduating from the Department of International Trade and Business; students can be done master's degree in business management, logistics and international trade.

Undergraduate Transfer

In our university, three types of undergraduate transfers are possible: In-house, according to the average grade between institutions and according to the central placement score.

1-In-house undergraduate transfers can be made to any undergraduate program within the university provided that the transition requirements are announced each year. Undergraduate programs cannot be transferred in the first two semesters and last two semesters. In order to apply for transfer between undergraduate programs, the central placement score of the student who is eligible for the undergraduate program that he / she wants to pass as of the year he / she enters the central exam must not be less than the lowest score of the undergraduate programs of other universities in Turkey. The time spent outside the foreign language preparatory class prior to transfer is included in the teaching period. In this context, the total period of education of a student who has been transferred from any undergraduate program whose education period is four years to another four-year undergraduate program cannot exceed seven years. These periods are determined not to exceed eight years for those with five years and nine years for programs with six years.

Vertical Transmission:

The Department of International Business and Trade also accepts students through vertical transfer (DGS). Information regarding quotas and points can be followed in the Vertical Transfer Guide published by OSYM in July every year.

Our dormitories located on the campus of Yeditepe University located in Ataşehir in the center of Istanbul have a capacity of 4,250 beds. While continuing your university education in our fully equipped campus on an area of 123.000 m2, you can take advantage of the dormitory facilities in the campus.

The Department International Trade and Business is one of the most suitable departments for entrepreneurship at Yeditepe University. The learning outcomes of many courses in our curriculum are designed to increase our students' entrepreneurship gains.

Of course, entrepreneurship has something to do with the school. In the years when new ideas started to form, it is very important for our country with a young population to bring them to the fore and support them with appropriate education. Technology Transfer Office, which was established within Yeditepe University, supports our students who develop new ideas by organizing Yeditepe New-Ideas Competition every year.

Our International Trade and Business Department, where entrepreneurship is brought to the forefront with seminars, trips, trainings and certificates, has brought many new entrepreneurs to our country in foreign trade.
