International business and trade are among the key features of an increasingly globalized economy. Our academic program is designed to provide the educational upbringing of future leaders in management who are knowledgeable in the rapidly evolving international business environment and who can effectively adapt the changes and innovations in the field to their management strategies. Apart from English, which is the medium of instruction at the Faculty of Commerce, our students are also required to learn at least one more foreign language (Yeditepe University offers foreign language courses in English, French, German, Spanish, Latin, Russian, Arabic and Chinese, as well as Turkish language courses for foreign students.) Our academic program is planned in a way that allows our students to enrol in Double Major or Minor programs which are jointly organized with other Departments of the Faculty of Commerce, or with Departments of other Faculties at Yeditepe University which have similar agreements with our Department. Our Finance Laboratory, which utilizes real-time market data and software used by finance professionals, enables our students to obtain multifaceted and realistic experiences in terms of financial analysis. We always aim to use advanced technologies to simulate real-life management decisions in our courses. Our courses regarding information technologies are designed to prepare our students in a versatile way for management information systems and enterprise resource planning systems, which are becoming increasingly important in the administration of business firms. Our application-oriented course program requires our students to complete two internship periods in companies that are active in international business and trade, to make sure they will graduate with the necessary experience and specialization regarding the subjects related to the field. Additionally, our students frequently participate in Erasmus or other student exchange programs at numerous Universities in Europe and North America which have signed student exchange agreements with our Department. Our goal is to prepare our students so that, upon graduation, they can assume all types of active roles and job positions in international markets, finance and insurance companies, and all types of private or state institutions and sectors involved in international trade.
